Ühistranspordi planeerimistarkvara peab võimaldama erinevate tellija poolt edastatud andmestike üleslaadimist ja visualiseerimist mitme erineva kihina, mida saab avada aluskaardi peal. Andmestikeks on näiteks elu- ja töökohtade demograafilised andmed, era- ja avalike teenuste ruumilise paiknemise andmed, haldusüksuste ja transporditsoonide andmed, ühiskaardi valideerimisandmed, sõitjate loendussüsteemid, teenusasutuste andmed, haridusasutuste andmed, liiklussagedused, lähte- ja sihtkohtadega seotud liikumiste andmed, sh OD-maatriksid.
